104.1 Fees. On all buildings, structures, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and gas systems or alterations requiring a permit, a fee for each permit shall be paid as required at the time of filing application.
104.2.1 Building:
On all buildings, structures, additions, or alterations requiring a building permit, a fee for each building permit shall be paid at the time of filing application, in accordance with the following schedule:
- Where the valuation does not exceed $1,000.00, there shall be no fee.
Total Valuation Fee
$1,000.00 and less No fee, unless inspection required, in
which case a $40.00 fee for each
inspection shall be charged.
$1,001.00 to $50,000.00 $40.00 for the first $1,000 plus $8.00 for
each additional thousand or fraction
thereof, to and including $50,000.00.
$50,001.00 to $100,000.00 $432.00 for the first $50,000.00 plus
$7.00 for each additional thousand or
fraction thereof, to and including
$100,000.00.
$100,001.00 to $1,000,000.00 $782.00 for the first $100,000.00 plus
$4.00 for each additional thousand or
fraction thereof, to and including
$1,000,000.00
$1,000,001.00 and up $4,382.00 for the first $1,000,000.00 Plus
$3.00 for each additional thousand or
fraction thereof.
104.2.2 Plan Review: When the Building Official deems it necessary for a plan review to be performed by the International Code Council or other third party plan review service, the Plan Review fees shall be prescribed by the plan review service and said fees shall be paid directly to the plan review service at the time of submittal.
104.2.3 Building Permit Valuations: The Building Official shall use the "Square Foot Building Valuation Data", updated periodically by the International Code Council, Incorporated, to determine permit valuations. Other cost based methods may be used as necessary to determine valuation.
104.3 Associated Building Trade Permit Fees. Fees for permits associated with new construction, additions, and alterations, (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, gas) are included in the cost of the base building permit fees. The following permit fees apply when no base building permit has been issued:
104.3.1 Electrical:
- Issuance fee, $20.00
- Temporary power pole, $20.00
- Main Service:
200 amps or less, $20.00
201-400 amps, $30.00
401-600 amps, $40.00
601 amps and above, $75.00
- Additional wiring permit, $20.00
- Motors:
Fractional to 5 h.p., $20.00
Greater than 5 h.p., $20.00 + 1.00 per horsepower.
104.3.2 Plumbing:
- Issuance fee, $20.00
- Per fixture or trap, $2.50
- Sewer, $10.00
- Water service, $5.00
104.3.3 HVAC:
- Issuance fee, $20.00
- Per ton, $5.00
- Ductwork only, $15.00
- Heat only, $15.00
104.3.4 Gas:
- Issuance fee, $20.00
- Per outlet, $3.00
104.3.5 Swimming Pools:
- Permit Fee shall be based on Valuation of the Project See Building Permit Fee

104.3.6 Manufactured Home:
- On Permanent Foundation, $75.00
- Electrical Service Connection or Initial Meter Installation Permit - See Electrical

104.3.7 Certificate of completion: $25.00
104.3.8 Certificate of occupancy: $25.00
104.3.9 Moved Structures. Moving of buildings or structures-$150.00 per building or structure. An inspection is required for all structures to be moved within the jurisdiction of the Lee County Commission prior to relocation (Habitable structures other than mobile homes or manufactured homes). Building permits and associated trade permits are also required for the scope of work necessary for the moved structure to meet the minimum standards of this Code. (See "Exhibit B" of these Supplemental Administrative Provisions)
104.3.10 Erection of Signs or Billboards:
Less than 32 sq. feet, no fee.
Greater than 32 sq feet Based on the Valuation of Project
104.3.11 Demolition of Buildings or Structures: $25.00 per building or structure.
104.4 Re-inspection Fees. A contractor or individual will be allowed one (1) inspection and one (1) re-inspection of the same phase of work under the permit issued. The third (3rd) inspection of the same phase or stage of work shall be Twenty-Five dollars ($25). All additional inspections for the same phase or stage of work shall be One Hundred Dollars ($100). If an inspection is requested and access is not available a re-inspection fee will be charged for the trip. Failure to cancel a scheduled inspection when the project is not ready for inspection constitutes an inspection.
104.5 Belated Permits. Any person who commences any work before obtaining the necessary permits shall be subject to a penalty of 100 percent of the usual permit fee in addition to the required permit fees. (Specified permit fee + 100% penalty).
104.6 Refunds. The refunding policy of previously collected fees is as follows:
The full amount of any fee paid hereunder that was erroneously paid or collected shall be refunded.
If no inspections performed, the full amount of any fee paid or collected less a twenty-five ($25) dollar administrative fee where the permit was not issued in error, shall be refunded.
Not more than eighty percent of the permit fee paid when a plan review has been performed or inspections performed.
The Building Official shall not authorize the refunding of any fee paid, except upon written request filed by the original permit not later than 60 days after the date of fee payment.
