Sheriff's Department to oversee Solid Waste Enforcement

Under a new agreement approved at the Jan. 25 meeting of the Lee County Commission, the Sheriff's Department will now oversee solid waste enforcement.
With the Sheriff's Department overseeing the enforcement of solid waste issues, the county will experience more efficient enforcement with 24/7 patrolling by the Sheriff's Office.
The Environmental Services Department will still coordinate roadside clean-up efforts through litter crews.
