The Lee County Commission gave its approval to the Environmental Services Department to again partner with Auburn University and the cities of Auburn and Opelika on a joint recyclying program grant.

This will be the second year the county has participated in this grant program, which is sponsored by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management. If approved by ADEM, the grant will further recylcing efforts to divert materials from the county's landfill and protect the environment.
