| The National Weather Service has again recognized Lee County as a StormReady community, renewing the designation for another three-year period.
The program, begun in 1999, arms American communities with communications and safety skills needed to save lives and property before, during and after an event. The program focuses on advanced planning, education and awareness to aid citizens.
Lee County is one of only 40 counties in Alabama to be recognized as a StormReady community. |
